Student Body President

Eduardo De Las Cuevas

Major: Psychology

Hometown: Miami, FL

Campus Involvement: Junior Class Council: President, Sophomore Class Council: Vice President, Union Board: Policy and By-laws chair, Dance Marathon: Corporate Partnership Coordinator, Op

Why Legacy: I choose Legacy because I appreciate community. I appreciate a group of students concerned with promoting and involving everyone. That is concerned with engaging the greater FSU community to get involved and providing the necessary tools to help these students have the best experience possible. I choose legacy because it's about the community, not about me, and that's the point.

Favorite Platform Point: Wellness for the student body. Currently, FSU has the lowest mental health funding throughout all of Florida. Supporting the mental health of our students is critical. It is unbelievable that our students would be denied counseling because of a lack of funding.

Fun Fact: I once participated in a state level spelling bee!

Aaliyah Abarzua

Why Legacy: Through an amazing friend, I came to find that the Legacy party truly wants EVERY students voice to be heard. The people in legacy are motivated, dedicated, and caring.

Favorite Platform Point: Mental health initiatives to identify and support students in need.

Fun Fact: I fully recovered in five months from an accident in which I fractured six bones in my pelvis, to spend my summer in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
